HAI administers what is known as a Placement Exam, which is a type of evaluation exam given to prospective students who may already speak some English and who do not want to start at the beginning level.
The Placement Exam is held an average of nine different times in the month leading up to the start of a new session.
If a student registers after the last Placement Exam has been given, the student will have to be interviewed. The oral interview will be the only test available, whereas those that register before that date are entitled to a written exam and an oral interview.
The Placement Exam is also used in conjunction with the Regular Programs, TOEFL and SAT preparation classes, in order to evaluate the English skills of a prospective student and to ensure the most advantageous class placement for their level of skill.
Regular Program, TOEFL & SAT Prep Placement Exam Dates:
- EVERY MONDAY and SATURDAY from 9 am to 12 noon after October 3.
If the social and/or health situation in the capital experiences a change for the worst, it is advised that students call ahead at +50948846305 OR +50932319995 during office hours to confirm the status of the test. Because of the unexpected nature of events in Haiti, calling ahead when unsure is the best way to proceed.
Cost: $30 USD (includes both written and oral components)
