The Regular Program is a category of classes rather than an actual class itself. The Regular Program course path consists of taking 8 sequential classes, E010 through E080. The main feature of the Regular Program is its frequency: students attend class four days a week, Monday through Thursday, for one hour each day.
For those who can’t make it to the HAI four days a week, there is a Regular Program available on Fridays that consists of 4 hours on a single Friday morning or afternoon.
Since the HAI conducts classes all year round, any given academic year consists of four trimesters: Jan-Mar, Apr-June, July-Sept, Oct-Dec. The eight courses of the Regular Program are therefore completed in 2 years, with E010 – E040 completed in the first year (or 4 consecutive trimesters), and E050 – E080 completed in the second year.
At the end of the eight-class Regular cycle, you may receive a transcript, which is available upon request. In order to achieve a Certificate, you must have successfully completed the eight classes of the Regular cycle. Then you will be eligible to continue on to the four Advanced Certificate Classes. These are mandatory classes that must be completed successfully in order to obtain a Certificate.
The Regular Program uses the Step Forward series of textbooks.
