To recognize and participate in WORLD POETRY DAY on March 21, 2020, it would be interesting for the Haitian-American Institute teachers and students to sharpen their minds and their pencils and submit a few of their best creations for all the world to see via the HAI website and Facebook page.
A fun form of group poetry is known as a “doha”, and it usually winds up sounding like a poem, whereby someone reflects for a moment, then starts off by saying a word or phrase that comes to mind. Someone must be designated to keep track of everything said by writing it down after each person speaks. Next person does the same, until the last person finishes. The whole “poem” is then read back to the group. This is usually very amusing!
